aGLaia uNiVeRSe

  Since December we are immersed in the AGLAIA UNIVERSE PROJECT that is carried out by the brave 5th of Primary Education, or rather, the HEROES of the future, since they have been chosen for a very important misión: saving the world from the CHAOS that exists due to the elimination of the values ​​by the “hommo machine”. Thankfully, before everything happened, some guardians, from the hand of Beatriz Iranzo who is the creator of the project, hid messages encrypted after symbols to be deciphered by our children and manage to convey their message to reverse the situation who live since 2050.

  In order to achieve this, our heroes have had to open their minds and pay attention to their imagination and creativity, since they have had to move to the year 2067, where society is isolated in a territory surrounded by mirrors, where There is the possibility of seeing nothing more than what they want us to see, sunk in a dark world, where there is no possibility of seeing bright colors sprout on the petals of the most precious flowers that existed before.

 

 

 

   The beginning of the project has led them to see the CHAOS through a video, which showed the destruction in which the planet has been involved, where most of all the people had become machines that repeated their actions without feeling, without values, without conscience, … all in a mechanical way. Once immersed in the adventure, through the dynamics of SEE , THINK , WONDER  they managed to put their first impressions about the world in which they had to live, in addition to identifying themselves in history through a symbol that reflected their identity hidden so as not to be discovered by the villains.

 

 

 

  After a while and with the symbol of each one created, they had to be able to demonstrate what they were going to contribute to the project, what were the reasons why the society had to trust them, so that the achievement that reflected his personality in the game, they added four limbs, like arms and legs, with four sentences where you exposed their messages to reassure society and capture their attention and trust, in addition to commenting on what the adventure meant for them, transcribed in a mural where we have collected all his legacies.

 

 

 

   Until now, their adventures had been individual, but the time came when they had to come together as a tribe to join forces and achieve better convey the message hidden behind each symbol of each value, a total of eight different, such as: conscience, courage, hope, intuition, loyalty, justice, creativity and empathy. During this moment, the first minutes were for them, relaxed and lying on the ground, they had to think about the meaning of each value, what they identified it with, what magnitude it could have, where its importance resided, … Once they had made their introspective analysis, they were able to locate themselves in one of them, explaining the reasons why they were going to fight to transmit that value in the best way. Each hero chose a role and chose the place in the space where it would be most comfortable to describe the reasons why he had chosen it, and then put it back in its place. The objective of the dynamic was to get three brave in each value, as expected not come first, so we had to make changes and wise advice to achieve it and give each one the best value that represented and was able to to transmit.

 

 

 

   Once we have met the tribe to which we belong, we have met Mercedes Figuerola, author and writer of a multitude of children’s books, who will be who in a child story to our entire adventure through the Aglaia Universe. In addition, we have used the application created by Gammera Nest for the project to perform a search activity of the different symbols that represent each value, first having to train them with pieces that are out of order so that, once they are complete, go to search that is colored, hidden by the gym. Every time we find one, we have to check it with the camera of the tablet to unlock it and be able to move on to the next one. With this activity what we pursue is to color the different values ​​that are in black and white in the puzzle, but thanks to the diffusion work of each tribe they manage to color it to transmit their message and change the situation of chaos that they are living, as heroes and heroines that are.

 

 

 

   Divided into tribes, it was time to give shape to a dance that identified each group of heroes and heroines who were able to transmit their value through body movement, hiding their message so as not to be discovered by the “hommo machines” but that It will reach all the people of the planet to open its mind and question everything that was happening, promoting a change in consciousness and looking for a path of hope. In this course of creation, we have met the guardian of the intiution, which is called María Isabel Lorenzo of FarmHouse Studios, is a producer, digital content journalist and traveler in time, who has taught us how beautiful it can become planet traveling many of the unexplored places to date by the human being and also, others that have been overexploited by the “machine hommo” destroying its purity and taking it to CHAOS.

 

 

 

   With the dance done and reserved for the council of tribes that we would have the last day, each group had to create the sketch and prototype of an ART-EFacto, using recycled material, that will help to fight the villains, improving the world in which we were immersed, with which to enhance the value of the message and expand the field of vision to attract the attention of a greater number of people, all this they would achieve thanks to the figure of the guard Carlos Paz, who called himself Chaman, who It conveyed the message that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE, everything that the imagination is capable of creating, it is possible to transform it, we just have to find the way to do it.

 

 

 

   Through its language and presentation, it was enveloping us in its magic, deciphering secrets that a priori seemed impossible, such as walking on the River Thames or how to generate wind energy using a wheel, cartons and used cables. Stuck in this dynamic, we had to think about things that today seemed that could not be real and that would help us improve the world, for example a food reserve that never ended and that would feed everyone, be able to travel in time to change things avoiding major problems that occur as a result of our actions, … so the impossible goal we had fulfilled.

 

 

 

   Finally, after all this trip and all the creations that we have been making throughout the project process, it is time for all of us together, all HEROES of the three classes, to transmit all our feelings as a tribe, all our coded messages, masked behind an ART-EFacto and a DANCE and, above all, make a reflection on the importance of our participation in the project with the value that has been assigned to us, for can transmit it in the best way to get out of CHAOS in which we are immersed, defeating the “hommo machines” and returning to society the color that characterizes it, painted with hope, empathy, justice, …

 

 

 

   Finally and for this process to be impregnated in all the places of the school, we have had the good fortune to meet the guardian of the painting, Kike Suárez, who has collected all our impressions to create a mural in which all of them are captured. our words in the form of a drawing, with which we can remember the just, brave, creative, empathetic, … that we have been throughout this adventure that has only just begun.

 

 

 

   Once the heroes are grouped by tribes, remember through this card the importance of their value, they must transmit that message through rhythm and body percussion, the only code imperceptible by the Hommo machine, so that it can reach to another childrens the length and width of the planet. Through this map, the tribes have known which is the moment of history in which we find ourselves and what their new mission consists of, being able to see examples of what we are referring to as corporal percussion.

   Each tribe, after writing the meaning of its value in the sheets that start the project, using a tablet, have known their mission and have been able to see examples to create their choreographies, setting out to create their own, being able to take more ideas through the reading of QR codes found in these posters stuck on the walls of the patio, so they can review them whenever they want and help them to continue creating their rhythms.

 

 

 

   With all the information in the head of the tribes, it was time to get down to work, and in the courtyard the body rhythms began to give sound to the corners of the playground, helping us to mitigate the cold of the last days. In our creation space, we had at our disposal some posters created by our guardian in which, by reading QR codes, we could discover examples that would help us to shape each choreography. Time was giving form to each value in the form of percussion, at which time the glasses were integrated to finish giving color to a message that would reach all the places in the world, getting the necessary help to get out of the situation in which We are immersed.

 

 

 

   During the month of February, the heroes of the 5th have experienced the third part of the project AGLAIA UNIVERSE from Beatriz Iranzo, after inventing each tribe a new language to transmit the importance of its value through body percussion, as we could see In the SToMP THe YaRD project, it was time to create your own ARTEFacto model to defeat the Hommo machine.

But … WHAT ARE THE ARTFACTS?

   The ARTEFacts come to unite three key words important for all the process of development of the own project, as they are: on the one hand the ART creation through the model, the Physical Education like means to use the coordination of the corporal movements and the ACTS which are the actions we carry out to cause a change.

   The main objective of the ARTEFacts was to build a model of a tool that would serve to defeat the machine Hommo and help society to leave the CHAOS in which it is after the disappearance of values. The different tribes have followed a process of creation until achieving the final result, as detailed in the description of the steps that we can read below:

  • Each hero brought different recycled material from their homes to supply the warehouse with possible materials that would help us to create the ARTEFacts. Among this material we find cardboard, plastic, plugs, newspaper, water bottles, tree branches, tetrabricks, fabrics, …

 

 

 

  • With all the material, the next step was for each tribe to choose the one that would serve to create their final ARTEFacto, so taking into account these data, they went to work to create a sketch, collecting the ideas contributed by each partner. @ of the tribe.

 

 

 

  • With the created and consensual sketch, we move on to the creation stage. They went to work to choose and select the material of the warehouse of recycled materials, taking out what was indispensable to work with it such as scissors, glue, paints, brushes … to give life to the design they had designed.

 

 

 

   After several assembly sessions, we could see what that drawing from the beginning was, something magnificent and real that could be played. Once the ARTEFacts were finished, it was time to fill out a form in which to collect all the details of the creation process, with the necessary data that will serve as informative support in the international exhibition of art “Fusion V” of London where they will be exhibited from 27 to March 31, to the staging that is being prepared for this event by the professional team of Nicola Torriti.

 

 

 

   So that you can see all the way we have traveled with the project of the Heroes, I leave the following video summary of the experiences we have lived since the month of December, when we began the adventure:

ONE MORE STEP TO DEMONSTRATE THAT THE VALUES ARE CRUCIAL FOR THE GOOD INTEGRAL DEVELOPMENT OF OUR PEOPLE AND OF THE COEXISTENCE AMONG ALL THE PEOPLE WHO FORM IT, BESIDES WE CAN REALIZE WHAT THEY ARE CAPABLE OF CREATING BEING MEMBERS OF A TRIBE THAT PURSUE TO OBTAIN COMMON OBJECTIVES.

   We started the third quarter with the next episode of the Aglaia universe, with the collaboration of Álex Céspedes, actor, pedagogue and theater professional who has helped us to describe and discover, through dramatization and imagination, what this means to us be heroes and heroines of the Aglaia Universe.

  To begin the theater sessions he has presented himself and told us what the theater is for him, besides asking our names but in a strange way, just using the vowels that form our first and last names, for example in my case that I call CArlOs CHAmOrrO DUrÁn it would be AO AOO UA, do you try to introduce yourself in a comment telling us what theater is for you? Taking advantage of the body we have, giving it one more turn of the nut using, in this case, the consonants accompanied by body movement. It has not been easy, because the embarrassment and the perplexity of what was happening on the first day made it difficult for us to get away from our site, but as the activity passed, the laughter came to light and began to shed light on our reactions natural and spontaneous.

 

 

 

   After the presentations, with the body more adapted to the new dynamics, we have begun to imitate the movements of the person who guided the activity. First Alex, but then we have taken the witness to others, copying the voice and the movement represented. Taking advantage of the fact that we have introduced the voice, it is time to invent a new language to convey the most important thing we have, so first to my companion next door and then to the whole group, we have shared our words. With this exercise, we have managed to fill our body with energy, so much so that we have been able to share it with our companions through slaps, giving them everything they mean for us.

   The displacement, so important for us in Physical Education classes, comes alive, so we look for different ways to move through space, allowing us the license to do it in a strange way that we do not normally do in public. At this moment, different slogans come into play to improve the action by means of clapping, in which we are going to have to bend down, freeze and say who we are.

 

 

 

   In another moment of these classes so intense, fun and with so much sense to know all the details that dramatization gives us, comes into play the imagination, relaxation and seeing ourselves in another situation that is not real, trying to feel what Álex narrates in a story that helps us to relax thanks to a perfect melody that helps us get into the activity. The story said the following: “We left the school, we moved away from the building where we are, in the distance we found our favorite animal that leads us to a forest, with a clearing in which there is a chest that invites us to open, where We found a letter with a message for each one, a gift for us. After enjoying this situation, it was time to return to reality, feel the rain, smell the environment that surrounds the school, we want to enter but our animal can not come, but tells us that we can count on it whenever we want, returning to the room where we are.

 

 

 

   At this moment, we open our eyes and look for another companion to whom we will tell everything we have imagined, making an active listening to what my partner has passed by answering three questions: what animal has been ? What have we found in the chest next to the letter? and what message has he transmitted to us?

 

 

 

   With all this information in our heads, it is time for us to begin to animate our animal, so we created its sculpture, the animal that I saw in the relaxation of imagination, with all the details, as if it were made of plasticine: putting color, lengthening the extremities, putting hair, feathers, … looking at it from afar to see how we have been and retouching the details that may be missing before we get fully into it and turn our appearance in the way we have created, we move as if we were that animal, we emit sounds, we smell, we lie on the ground, … so that, little by little, we can recover our own human figure, returning to our personality that characterizes us. This allows us to play with the division between the real and the fantastic world, so depending on the place where we are, we will move in a certain way, giving life to the animal that has created our imagination and returning to the position of being human that represents us.

 

 

 

On the other hand, to emit the sound of our animal and the message that has told the rest of the tribe such as “be yourself, do not lose hope, do not hate others, do what you propose, fight for your dreams, whatever you want, … ” makes us stronger and unites us more in that team feeling, for what we are staging and sharing with the rest. We have noticed that in the vast majority of messages, the word NO appears before us, we have had to transform it into positive messages where this barrier does not exist, which often limits and curtails us.

   This verbal conflict, helps us to enter the next part of the theater workshop that arises between two characters where one wants something and the other does not want to give it, creating a body and verbal situation where it depends on the strategy of each one, may have what he pursues. When this ends, we get what we want, so we express our joy and satisfaction to achieve it.

 

 

 

   There are many conclusions we can draw from these theater sessions, but what I’m left with is the phrase “how much good there is to share with the rest“.

WHAT THIS EXPERIENCE HAS SERVED US FOR? THE ANSWERS ARE MULTIPLE, BECAUSE THE WAY THAT EACH ONE WALKS IS UNIQUE AND ONLY UNDERSTANDING BY WHOM IT WEARS THE SNEAKERS THAT DO IT, WHAT IS CLEAR IS THAT THE IMPORTANT THING IS TO WALK UNTIL YOU ARRIVE TO ACHIEVE OUR DREAMS.

   This week of May, the 5th grade students, as heroes, have had the opportunity to meet the guardian of courage, represented in the figure of Beatriz Iranzo, the designer and coordinator of the Aglaia Universe project that we have been developing since December, who has shown us the way to be able to represent ourselves on a blank canvas, using brushes and paintings, as true protagonists.

   To enter the situation, Beatriz has read us the first letter that helped us to enter the CHAOS, in this way we have become aware of the moment we were coming from and the moment in which we find ourselves, that is why she has shown us the video summary until the creation of ART-EFacts with the following soundtrack:

 

 

 

   While we watched the video and listened to the song, the emotions were on the surface, making our hair stand on end to be able to relive all the adventures that we have added along the way that has led us to proclaim ourselves as heroes and heroines of the Aglaia Universe and having fought against CAOS through innumerable activities of all kinds: information processing, learning dynamics, use of new technologies through QR codes, creation of a new language through body percussion, ART design -Facts, corporal representation of what this road meant to us … until today, in which through different strokes we will identify ourselves as heroes and heroines, discovering what is hidden behind our blank canvases, which will take shape to show others who we are within this project, as you can see in the following images that demonstrate the process I brought you:

 

 

 

WE ADD A NEW CHAPTER TO OUR ADVENTURE, BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE FINAL ACTIVITY WHERE WE WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY THE GUARDIAN GUARDIAN, WHO IS TRANSFORMING OUR PROPOSALS IN REALITY AND WHO WILL LEAD US TO BE ABLE TO SEND THE MESSAGE TO THE WHOLE WORLD THAT WE HAVE A LOT TO DO IN THE PRESENT TO HAVE A BETTER FUTURE.

   During these last two weeks of the course, in which we are closing different projects started in September, there has been the end of one of the projects that most liked the 5th grade students because of everything they have generated and for everything What they have experienced throughout the different episodes that they have experienced, I am referring to the project Héroes of BeaTRiZ Iranzo.

   We have been fortunate to have Guy Kennedy, guardian of creativity, who came from London to know us and thank us for the amount of material we had created, which has made it possible to transform it into the digital world so that it forms of the different resources that will be generated with the experience lived by the 5th grade students during this school year.

 

 

 

   The last battle, the final battle, in which the tribes come together to fight the CHAOS and defeat the machine Hommo, liberating society and transmitting their values to the rest of humanity, is explained through the words of its creator , BeaTRiZ, in the following lines:

We have reached the end of 2067, the tribes representing each of the values have known the environment, they have learned what their power means, they have developed skills and competencies and they are changing the history that years ago plunged the world we knew into Chaos that destroyed everything. Now is the time when those who were about to arrive have begun to rise up and change the course of this narrative based on the hero’s journey.

 

 

 

THE END OF GAME – THE INITIAL TRIP

  • Empathy has found a safe place for each tribe for the first settlements using geometric shapes.
  • Courage has shared new gadgets allowing each tribe to use them according to their needs.
  • The conscience has found a protected place so that the tribes can come together and have created paths for all the tribes so that they can arrive and that their trip will take place safely.
  • Intuition has written messages on each path with knowledge relative to each hidden value so far …
  • The creativity has assaulted the first factory and shares the strategies to assault the others of Chaos.
  • Loyalty has been in contact with the animal kingdom and has presented to each tribe each animal that will accompany them from now on in this adventure.
  • Hope has been divided to help the other tribes, no one can be left behind. He has come too close to Chaos and has very important information, but he could not always be saved and some comrades have fallen into the hands of transhumanists.

  With these activities developed by each of the tribes of each class have opened new narrative lines that nourish a content generated specifically by the students providing the teaching-learning experience of the fundamental characteristics that make this center project become in one of the most innovative adventure stories developed in the educational field.

WHAT ARE YOUR CONCLUSIONS AS CREATOR OF THE AGLAIA UNIVERSE?

   Each one of the developed itineraries is linked to the curricular content of each area of ​​Primary Education. Universe Aglaia is an educational value project based on an interactive transmedia narrative. What I experienced during these months with the alumning of 5th Primary Education has allowed us to generate new designs through a narrative that will allow other children from other schools to join the creation of this living Universe because they are the main protagonists .

   Culture, education and technology support the Aglaia heroes so that in 2068 other tribes can continue to share their exploits under the legacy of CEIP students Christopher Columbus with whom we will continue working to prototype the new interactive development App in the school and the video game, both with a personalized vision of the Universe but that will allow for joint development to develop a program of education in values ​​that the faculty will implement transversally in the different areas of the curriculum.

TRANSFER OF THE LEARNED – METACOGNITION – CONTENT – CREATIVITY

   These have been the four concepts on which we have based for the design of this last activity because we must not forget that it is a program that is implemented in schools and that should provide more information to the integral development of students enrolled in an official curriculum.

   It will also allow each hero and heroine to continue his adventure from the same point where he left it and that the narrative that defines the experience is personalized in such a way that once the portal has been built they can continue their teaching-learning itinerary taking consider all the achievements and learning standards of each of the participants.

   We have lived not only what they have learned but what they have decided to share with other colleagues in search of a better world. And also I have lived one of the most enriching educational experiences as a teacher.

LITTLE MORE CAN BE ADDED, IT HAS BEEN AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE, IN WHICH WE HAVE WORKED NOT ONLY CURRICULAR CONTENTS, IF NOT LIFE CONTENTS RELATED TO EMOTIONS, COEXISTENCE, PROBLEM RESOLUTION, CREATION OF SECRET LANGUAGES, DEVELOP IMAGINATION WITHOUT LIMITS, … ALL OF IT, COMBINED WITH THE DESIRE TO CREATE A NEW METHODOLOGY THAT IS AWAY FROM THE BOOKS AND IS CENTERED IN WHICH THE OWN STUDENTS GENERATE THEIR OWN LEARNING BASED ON THEIR INTERESTS.
