One of the most important things that arise in education is that learning must be durable and attract attention from the start in all the environments in which the teaching-learning process takes place, that is why in the school we are giving a chance to the space in which the students feel more uninhibited, they show themselves as they are, they play, they talk, they relate to each other in a different way, … being the place where they would be more time than the school schedule marks, as is RECREO.
Since last year, a series of interventions have been taking place, from all areas of education, to give our patio a more striking aspect, which will appeal to the students, a place where the students be more comfortable and feel proud of the school to which they belong, because having this motivation from the beginning, the learning flows much more and the level of attention improves to be in a favorable environment, which makes them feel at home.
WHAT IS HAPPENING IN OUR PATIO?
What we pursue with this project of Patio Improvement is to provide students with different learning areas in which they can develop their skills that will help them achieve their maximum development in the motor, attitudinal and cognitive, ie, that they are developed in a comprehensive way to incorporate skills that can be used in their daily lives. All these areas are being created from different areas such as Physical Education, in addition to being open to the rest of the Educational Community so that we are all involved in the process, contributing our ideas, suggestions and proposals that make it more enriching and improve what So far we had. Therefore, the proposals that have materialized in previous months and that are being carried out during this course are the following:
- INSTALLATION OF THE ROCODROMO
One of the possibilities we have to take advantage of the climbing without leaving the center, is the construction of our own climbing wall. An artificial climbing wall can represent for students a link between climbing in a fun way, practiced in trees, walls, playgrounds, and climbing in natural rocks. With the installation of a climbing wall we provide an area of the school center, sometimes forgotten, of utility and viability, for your enjoyment. At the same time, it is a motivating element, through which we can favor the development of the climbing. With this, we have created a very appropriate context for the work of the psychomotor of the children, enabling the development of laterality, body schema, balance, strength, coordination, problem solving, … promoting their integral development.
The work of climbing in school is a very appropriate instrument to encourage cooperation among students, where personal relationships are enriched. The “boulder” climbing wall is used for ropeless climbing, since it is carried out at a low height (which allows jumping to the ground). The children progress in a horizontal direction (“boulder” or crossing) or can climb short steps in a vertical direction. A “boulder” wall is an ideal climbing scenario for children because it facilitates a wide variety of games and activities, offering safety.
- PAINT BOARDS PAINTED ON THE FLOOR
As we have seen in the previous project called MaSTeRCHeFSS, Chess is very present in the development of our subjects, since since last year different actions have been created to equip this daily sports and mental practice, which favors a lot of the school contents that are worked in all areas. In addition, they have been incorporated into the Recreational Sports plan, so that they can be used in each and every one of the times of dispersion that the students have so that they can take the habit, interest and motivation to continue practicing it in their homes. with their families.
UNIVERSE WALL AGLAIA
The 5th graders were the chosen ones to embark on a project that wants to establish a new educational methodology within the classrooms thanks to Beatriz Iranzo who chose our school to put it into practice from the area of Physical Education. The AGLAIA universe continues with us in its development, but the experience of the end of the first quarter generated a series of experiences and motivations that led us to leave it embodied in this mural that today adorns the entire wall of the football court. In it, you can see a journey through the passage of our heroes and heroines, boosting the different values that help us improve our skills as citizens in a world where coexistence should be the flag that identifies us , moving away from that CHAOS in which sometimes we are immersed due to problems, stress, very high life rates, ignoring the importance of small things, … so creativity, imagination, fun and play have been our tools to go putting color to that gray world in which society was immersed, transmitting our messages so that they reach all corners of the planet and be internalized by all the people of the world.
- INTERVENTION OF BASURAMA IN THE AREA OF POPULAR AND TRADITIONAL GAMES
Another of the things that most work in the school is the sustainability of it, the recycling of waste and the way in which we can contribute to the conservation of the environment through our actions. We are already working within the program For a More Sustainable Madrid in the section of school gardens, which led us to think about doing some intervention using the recycled material to create different learning spaces in the yard. This idea led us to get in touch with Basurama, who accepted the proposal from the beginning and we have been guided in the steps to follow to create a good proposal to improve the patio: we made drawings with what we would like to have in the patio, what materials we could use, we created a commission of the project in which we are immersed students, professors and staff of Basurama, … and all these steps, have become the first performance within the space of popular and traditional games, which It has become a new area in which we have managed to divert attention from the balls, to a place where we can swing on swings created with recycled ropes and tires, and we can climb a network that has been created in team by the different students of the school who have contributed their grain of sand to transform this corner of the patio.
AND THIS IS NOT OVER HERE, WE HAVE PLANT THE SEED OF NEW INTERVENTIONS THAT WILL GIVE FORM AND WILL MAKE OUR RECREATION A PLACE IN CONTINUOUS CHANGE, PROMOTING NEW LEARNING AND GIVING OUR PROTAGONIST MULTITUDE OF EXPERIENCES THAT INCREASES ITS FAN OF POSSIBILITIES AND HELP THEM TO CONTINUE FORMING AS PEOPLE WITHIN THIS WORLD THAT MANNA DAY WILL BE THOSE WHO MODIFY IT.
